Muhyiddin receives courtesy call from New Zealand minister

PUTRAJAYA, March 11 – Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin(Pic) received a courtesy call from the New Zealand Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment Minister, Steven Joyce, at his office, here today.  Also present was New Zealand High Commissioner to Malaysia David Pine.

Idris Talu - TS Muhyiddin YassinJoyce is on a four-day visit to Malaysia beginning March 9 to 12 to attend the showcase of New Zealand’s education and trade opportunities as part of New Zealand Week in Malaysia.  During the New Zealand Week, Joyce was scheduled to attend an education fair promoting New Zealand tertiary education institutions in Kuching, Sarawak; meet with Malaysian businesses to discuss investment opportunities in Kuala Lumpur; sign an education co-operation agreement with Malaysia’s Minister of Higher Education Mohamed Khaled Nordin; and launch a high profile gala event and fashion show.

The visit will provide an opportunity for both sides to discuss ongoing efforts and new initiatives to further strengthen the cordial relationship and cooperation particularly in the areas of international education and trade. Later, Muhyiddin also received a courtesy call from the Malaysian Associated Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MAICCI), led by its president Datuk K. Kenneth Eswaran with 40 members.
