Sydney (dpa) – A Cathay Pacific aircraft from Perth to Hong Kong made an unscheduled landing in Indonesia Friday after an engine reportedly caught fire mid-flight.”There was a loud bang and sparks and flames,” one passenger told his brother, who contacted Australian broadcaster ABC.

The man said the cabin then went dark and 15 minutes later the captain of flight CX170 said there was a problem with one of the engines and they would land in Indonesia.
The airline said there was “no fire in cabin and all crew and passengers landed safely in Bali.”Those on board were “resting in hotel while we are addressing the issue,” it said on Twitter in a response to a post by the Daily Mail Australia.
