BACHOK, March 23 – The act of the teacher who allegedly insulted the security forces in Sabah is an isolated case and does not represent the attitude of the more than 30,000 teachers in Kelantan.  Kelantan Umno Liaison Committee deputy chief Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin said the majority of teachers in Kelantan fully supported the government’s move in
hunting down terrorists in Lahad Datu, Sabah.

3“They stand firmly behind the government in its efforts to defend our country’s sovereignty and security,” he told reporters after opening the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bachok Parents-Teacher Association annual general meeting, here today.

The 37-year-old teacher serving a school in Tok Bali was said to have insulted the security forces in Lahad Datu through his Facebook page.  He was arrested at a house near Gong Serapat, Pasir Puteh, on March 14, but released on police bail yesterday.  In his speech earlier, Awang Adek, who is also Deputy Finance Minister, said more big projects would be implemented in Bachok should Barisan Nasional return to rule Kelantan.

The projects include the construction of a district hospital with an allocation of RM100 million in Bakong and Universiti Teknologi Mara in Sungai Dua or Kampung Kemayan.
