Loga Bala Mohan- My PPPKuala Lumpur – Commenting on speculations in Tamil media that he would be fielded in Batu Parliamentary Constituency in Wilayah Persekutuan, Deputy Minister for Federal Territory affairs Datuk Loga Bala Mohan said any seat allocation or candidature on behalf of MyPPP would be decided by party President Tan Sri M.Kayveas.

In 2008 and 2013 general elections, Batu was allocated to Gerakan and Datuk Dr Dominic Lau contested on behalf of BN-Gerakan. However, on both occasions, he lost to PKR’s Tian Chua.

In a press statement released yesterday, Loga Bala Mohan said: “Only Tan Sri Kayveas has the prerogative to decide on the seats to be allocated and the respective candidates representing MyPPP. Everyone in the party has accepted this and will abide by his decisions. Therefore I do not want to comment on speculations  whether I will be contesting in GE-14”.

“It is common for such speculations to emerge as GE 14 is nearing but I do not want to reply to such speculations. MyPPP is a well-disciplined party with members and office-bearers having full confidence and faith in the leadership of Tan Sri Kayveas. We will abide by any decision he makes and would work whole-heartedly to achieve his recommendations” Loga Bala Mohan further noted in his statement.

Since 2004 in every general election BN has allocated one Parliamentary seat to MyPPP. In 2004 and 2008 it was Taiping and in 2013 it was Kepong. Taiping and Kepong were traditionally seats contested by Gerakan but was conceded to MyPPP as an amicable settlement between BN component parties.

In the forthcoming GE-14, Kayveas has been voicing that Cameron Highlands, currently held by MIC be given to MyPPP and that he would contest in that seat.

However, there has been no official decision by BN leadership.
