KANGAR, Feb 7 – The Perlis government has proposed that tender for projects below RM20 million be decided at state level to provide more opportunities for local contractors to land contracts.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Md Isa Sabu said currently, tender for big projects are decided by federal government thus creating problems for the contractors.
He said the Perlis government understood problems faced by more than 1,000 contractors in the state who vie for the limited government projects.
“Most contractors in Perlis have to compete for the meagre government projects worth not much,” he told reporters after opening a briefing and dialogue between Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) and Perlis
contractors.
