Kuala Lumpur, Nov 28 – Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia Thursday received a courtesy call from German Ambassador to Malaysia Holger Wilfried Michael at his office in Parliament House here.
The aim of the envoy’s visit was to strengthen relations between Malaysia and Germany, particularly between Parliaments of both countries, and to exchange views on various matters.
Pandikar Amin said the ambassador also invited Malaysian parliamentarians to visit Germany’s Parliament in mid-January next year.
“However, they will name the MPs they want to invite, including
those holding Cabinet posts. According to the procedure, those holding Cabinet posts must get the prime minister’s permission first.
“So, let me select them by taking into account the recommendations made by the ambassador who wants MPs from various parties,” he said.
Michael, 59, was appointed German ambassador to Malaysia in August.
