hyderabadHYDERABAD, December 30 – South Indian state of Telangana is seeking  to include capital city Hyderabad in UNESCO’s world heritage list, Press Trust of India (PTI) reported.

“It is pertinent to note that of the 32 world heritage sites in India, Telangana does not have a single UNESCO heritage site,” State Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said. Telangana was created out of Andhra Pradesh and became the country’s 29th state on June 2 this year.

Hyderabad remains the joint capital of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for a period not exceeding ten years. The city was recently ranked among the top must-see destinations by travel magazine National Geographic Traveller.
