Monday, March 4, 2013,- Chennai Rhinos, which had a bad season in the Celebrity Cricket League, finally ended its losing streak as the team registered their first win this year. The two-time winning team won the match against Bengal Tigers on Saturday (March 2). Bengal Tigers won the toss and decided to bat at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai.
But their decision to bat turned out to be costly as the team could not make up a decent total. Openers Tabun and Sandy tried to start the innings without losing wicket and they scored 15 runs for the first wicket in 4.3 overs before Tabun got run out. On the home conditions, the Chennai restricted the Bengal team with less than five runs per over in the power play.
When the things seem to be turning better for the visiting team, the team got triple blow, as Sandy, Indrasish, and Saughata were out leaving the team total for 29 runs for the loss of four wickets. It has to be noted that out of four wickets, three were run outs. Bengal Tigers’ captain Jisshu showed some resistance even though it arrived too late for the team. He batted well and scored 32 runs and hit a six. He was well-supported by Ruban. Their fifth wicket partnership was 39 runs.
