Prime Minister promises to continue building infrastructure in Sarawak

KUCHING, March 12- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today promised to continue building infrastructure rural and remote areas of  Sarawak. As such, the federal government will continue to work closely with the Sarawak government to ensure that the development process is successfully implemented.

“It is the federal government aim to continue to cooperate with the Sarawak government so that the rural transformation agenda can be implemented using the big allocation provided via the National Key Result Areas (NKRA) by constructing
schools, health centres and so on.

najib“This is done by achieving high growth rate in the range of 5 to 6 per cent per annum. The increased revenue can be distributed to close the development gap between Sarawak and Peninsular.

“We will continue with our efforts and with the cooperation of the Sarawak  government, the process will be smooth and effective,” he said when answering  questions from Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud after addressing the  13th Civil Service Premier Dialogue carried live from Plenary Hall, Putrajaya International Convention Centre, (PICC) to Wisma Bapa Malaysia, Petra Jaya here.

In the dialogue session, Abdul Taib urged federal government to help expedite the process of change in rural and remote areas of Sarawak as they still lack infrastructure. Also present at the function were Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Alfred Jabu Numpang, Deputy Minister of Information Communications and Culture Datuk Joseph Salang, State Secretary Tan Sri Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani and Federal  Secretary Datuk Md Yahaya Basimin.
