AirAsia X To Start Kuala Lumpur-Adelaide Direct Service On Oct 30

KUALA LUMPUR, July 30- Long-haul budget airline AirAsia X Bhd will offer direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Adelaide, Australia from Oct 30.

The new service was announced in Adelaide today by AirAsia X Chief Executive Officer Azran Osman-Rani at a ceremony attended by South Australia Premier Jay Weatherill and Tourism Minister Leon Bignell.

airasia2LGAdelaide will be AirAsia X’s fifth Australian destination after the Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

AirAsia X will fly four times weekly from its hub in Kuala Lumpur to Adelaide International Airport, providing affordable travel for guests from the AirAsia group network to connect to the capital city of South Australia.

“This new route ensures Adelaidians access to over 80 destinations across 20 countries including Kuala Lumpur, Bali, Osaka and Singapore at affordable prices.

“Guests from the AirAsia group network may also conveniently fly to Adelaide via the Kuala Lumpur hub soon when direct flights commence in October,” Azran said.

The route, the only direct low-cost service between Malaysia and Adelaide, will be operated by Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a seating capacity of 377.

AirAsia X is offering fares from Kuala Lumpur to Adelaide from as low as RM199 (A$99) one-way on Economy and as low as RM999 (A$599) one-way on Premium, to celebrate the new route opening.

Promotional fares are available for bookings online between July 30 and Aug 4 for travel between Oct 30, 2013 and Aug 5, 2014.
