New Delhi, May 28 – India’s new Finance Minister Arun Jaitley looks on after taking the charge yesterday in his office at the ministry of finance, in New Delhi, India.
Jaitley, a 62-year-old lawyer, has emerged as one of the most powerful ministers in Modi’s cabinet with the portfolios of finance and commerce, plus interim defence minister.
Political sources have predicted that the Defence Ministry will be soon taken by another minister as it is perceived as an important Ministry.
With the allocation of such important ministries, Arun Jaitley, has also emerged as the next most powerful leader within the BJP ranks, after Narendra Modi.
