Chennai, Oct 12 – India Post will release a special stamp on the ‘Father of the Nation’ Mahatma on Gandhi Saturday to commemorate this year’s National Postal Week celebrations, Press Trust of India (PTI) reports.
The stamp would be available for sale through philatelic bureaux across the country, Shanthi Nair, the Post Master General, Chennai region,said.
The World Post Day is celebrated by postal administrations across the globe on Oct 9.
From Oct 12 to 31, a philatelic exhibition on the history of postal services and railways, will be on display at Philatelic Exhibition Hall here, department sources added.
