New Delhi, June 13 – After its successful run at the box office, Kangana Ranaut-starrer and Viacom18 Motion Pictures’ Queen is ready for its remake voyage down south. Veteran actor-filmmaker Thiagarajan has acquired the remake rights of the movie, which will now have Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam avatars.
Queen delighted viewers with a simple yet strong store of Rani, who sets off on a marriage-less honeymoon and that experience directs her to inner reserves of strength and will-power that she didn’t know existed. That, thereon makes for a the quintessential inspirational tale.
Thiagarajan says he’s yet to finalize the cast for the remake. As the filmmaker is undecided about his leading lady, let’s take our best guess as to who among these southern belles will make the final cut.
Shriya Saran:
Shriya has definitely graduated from being just a pretty face and having gained such a strong foothold in the industry, she is definitely in the running for the role. Let’s wait and watch if the sexy damsel can give the rest a run for their money!

Tamannaah Bhatia who is a favourite down south will surely give tough competition to all others, having very well reprised the role of Kareena Kapoor in the remake of Jab We Met. Although she has just forayed into Bollywood, she is no fool to let such a golden opportunity slip by, don’t you think?

Trisha who has become a household name by making her presence felt in the southern film industry is definitely one of the strong contenders. She has gathered years of experience and her body language sure does exude the innocence that is required to play Rani’s part in the remake.
Samantha:
After carving a niche in Tollywood, the bubbly actress is steadily making a mark in the Tamil film industry. Couple with her sweet looks and acting prowess, she stands a fair chance of landing the coveted role.
Nayantara:
Nayantara is one of the most popular stars of Kollywood and is always on top of directors’ mind when they think of a leading lady. After doing fair justice to Vidya Balan’s role in the remake of Kahaani, she must have surely become a pro when it comes to reprising women centric roles. Only time will tell!
