Mumbai, September 19 – Katrina Kaif plans to elevate the bar for Bollywood heroines who take up roles in action films. The recently released trailer of the film Bang Bang! confirms just that. The gorgeous actress has pushed her limits and pulled off some daredevil feats to match steps with co-star Hrithik Roshan.
According to sources, Katrina Kaif trained herself to get a grip on Seabob-a highly advanced and powerful underwater scooter – to shoot a few stunt sequences. “Katrina underwent training for two days to learn how to operate it. She was quite at ease with the Seabob, which helped the shooting go smoothly,” a source said.
So, she didn’t only look ravishing in those frames, but also convincingly performed daring stunts. Katrina previously gave a glimpse of her ‘action’ ability in Kabir Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger opposite Salman Khan.
She has been trying to push the envelope further eversince. In another upcoming Kabir Khan-directed film, Phantom, Katrina is rumoured to have bagged the role of a Pakistani spy agent opposite Saif Ali Khan. Thus, we can expect to see her doing some more swift action scenes.
Even though Bang Bang! is scheduled to release in about a fortnight – on Gandhi Jayanti – the producers at Fox Studios plan to go slow with promotions. Hrithik and Katrina will appear at a few promotional events, but will reportedly stay away from hectic promotional appearances on reality shows.
Sources suggest that after watching the rushes of the film, Hrithik realised the film has turned out well and will automatically attract the audience. He reportedly decided against making random appearances on reality shows to avoid an overdose of the film even before its release.
Unfortunately, this also means fans might will not get to see Katrina Kaif share a stage with her ex-beau Salman Khan on the sets of Bigg Boss 8.
Fox Studios’ strategy to slow down promotions is similar to the one adopted by Yashraj Films when they had made a conscious decision to go slow before the release of Dhoom 3. Aamir Khan and Katrina had refrained from appearing on any reality show and yet managed to get a record collection at the box office.
