Ali RustamMELAKA, April 9 – Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam(Pic) has described the Sabah government’s action of prohibiting Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president Tian Chua from entering the state as appropriate.

“They (Sabah) have the right to prevent anyone, who they think is a troublemaker or a threat to peace and stability from entering the state.

“The law is already there and if Melaka has such a law, I will also bar him from entering our state,” he said.

Tian Chua was reported to have been prevented from entering Sabah upon arriving at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport at 11.05am yesterday to attend a PKR ceramah in the state, so was forced to return to the federal capital on another flight. Immigration director-general Datuk Alias Ahmad confirmed that the Batu member of parliament was forbidden from entering Sabah following orders from the state government, in accordance with Section 7 of the Immigration Act.

In SEREMBAN, Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said Tan Chua should actually be chased out of this country. Mohamad said considering his alleged statement over the Lahad Datu incident to divert public attention and causing public fear, he was not fit to be a citizen of this country.
