Kuala Lumpur : The venue for the much awaited new party by Prof P.Ramasamy, ‘Urimai’ was changed on the eve of the meeting due to police intimidation.
“Our reservation to hold the Urimai meeting on November 26, 2023 at 3-6 pm at the Kanagasabai Hall was cancelled the last moment by the Temple of Fine Arts at Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur. The chairman one Dr. Paranjothi informed my colleague Satees Muniandy that he had no choice but to cancel our reservation because of pressure from the police special branch. He was afraid that the government funding for the Temple of Fine Arts would be affected if the meeting was allowed” Prof Ramasamy posted on his facebook page. Since we had no choice, we had to change the venue to Bangunan Mariamman, Jln Hang Kasturi, Kuala Lumpur, from 4-7 pm, Sunday November 26, 2023″ – Ramasamy further noted.
“Is the Madani government afraid of a simple gathering to discuss the rights of Indians? I apologise for the inconvenience caused” Ramasamy commented.
