Only some campers disperse after getting DBKL notice

KUALA LUMPUR, June 23- Only some members of the group which camped in Padang Merbok overnight dispersed after Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) issued a two-hour notice to vacate the area while the rest did not budge.

dbklAbout 150 people who did not show any signs of leaving the area, only took down their tents.

According to one of those who camped in the area, who only wanted to be known as Hashim, 49, he made the decision to be with the other supporters despite the haze.

At 3.50pm, several DBKL vehicles and enforcement personnel were seen arriving to take action and monitor the area.

Bernama checks at 4.30pm today found there were still about 30 tents in Padang Merbok.

DBKL issued a two-hour notice at 10.15am to the group camping in Padang Merbok to vacate the area.

Solidarity for Malaysian Young People chairman Badrul Hisham Shahrin or also known as Cikgu Bard said about 100 tents were put up in Padang Merbok after the  Black 505 gathering yesterday.

He said 246 people spent the night at Padang Merbok.
