Muhyiddin arrives in penang to look at BN election machinery

GEORGE TOWN, Feb 5 – Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin arrived at the Penang International Airport, Bayan Lepas near here at 8.55am today for a working visit to the state.  Muhyiddin, who was making the visit to look at the preparations by the Barisan Nasional (BN) machinery to face the 13th general election (GE13) in Penang, was greeted on arrival by state BN chairman Teng Chang Yeow and BN component party leaders.

Also at the airport to welcome Muhyiddin, who is the BN deputy chairman, were Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yeng, who is also Penang MCA chairman, and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop.

images (2)The Deputy Prime Minister began his programme by listening to a briefing on the Penang BN election machinery and a meeting with the heads of polling district centres at a hotel here. Subsequently, Muhyiddin was scheduled to attend a luncheon with the state BN before proceeding to Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) for a meeting with the Penang professional groups and associations.

He was also scheduled to attend a gathering with residents of Taman Desa Green in Jelutong before proceeding to a 1Malaysia Blue Wave Gathering with the people at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Indrawasih, Prai at 8pm.
The Deputy Prime Minister was expected to return to the federal capital at 10.30pm from the Royal Malaysian Air Force Base (RMAF), Butterworth.
