JULY 9- Selena Gomez still drives her old car.
The 20-year-old singer tries to remain grounded despite her global success and revealed she hasn’t been tempted to trade in her first car for a newer model.
She told thestar.com: “I’m super laid back. I’m from Texas. I love my family. I still live with my parents. I drive the same car that I’ve driven since I was 16. That’s who I am.”
The ‘Come & Get It’ singer – who is single since splitting from on/off boyfriend Justin Bieber – also revealed she is never happier than when she is performing.
She said: “As a performer, I just love to make people smile. I just love to make people move and dance. There’s not really much more to it.”
Selena is preparing to release her first solo album, having recorded previous records with her band Selena Gomez & The Scene and says ‘Stars Dance’ is the result of a great deal of hard work.
She explained: “‘Stars Dance’ is my fourth album. It’s definitely the hardest I’ve ever worked on a record before.
“Before I would hear a song. I would like it and then play it and that would be that. This time I got to call producers and writers myself. I got to tell them what I was feeling, where I was in my life, what I wanted to sing about.”
