Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar congratulated the special Ops Cantas team that tracked him down and also thanked Malaysians who assisted the police in the task.

“Congratulations to the Bukit Aman (Federal Police) Ops Cantas team which nabbed the cold-blooded murderer and robber in JB this morning. Thank you Malaysians who assisted PDRM (Royal Malaysia Police),” he said in his official Twitter site today.

Meanwhile, Bukit Aman CID director Datuk Hadi Ho Abdullah said based on information received, a special Ops Cantas team from Bukit Aman arrested the suspect at about 7am in Kampung Belungkor, Kota Tinggi, Johor Baharu.

“Police believe with the arrest of the suspect, the case has been solved,” he said in a statement to Bernama today.

On Oct 23, operations manager Norazita Abu Talib was shot dead by the bank’s security guard with a pump gun when she and a colleague were opening a safe in the bank at Jalan USJ Sentral 2, Subang Jaya.

The suspect escaped with RM450,000 on a motor-cycle.

Meanwhile, the victim’s husband Irwan Kamaruddin, 37, when contacted by Bernama, said he hoped the suspect would be brought to justice.

“I thank the police for leaving no stone unturned in trcking down the suspect,” he said.

Asked how he was coping with his loss, Irwan said the family life had returned to some semblance of normality but the home was quiet and there was loneliness without his wife around.
