Bangkok, Dec 9 – Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said that she is ready to dissolve the parliament and hold elections within 60 days, amid Thailand’s biggest political deadlock since 2010, Thai News Agency (TNA) reported.

Yingluck reiterated on Sunday that she is ready to negotiate with anti-government protesters and if an agreement could not be reached then a public referendum should be held.

Her announcement came as anti-government demonstrators vowed to march on nine Bangkok roads to Government House on Monday, in their final push to oust the current regime.

Yingluck had rejected a demand made by protest leader, Suthep Thaugsuban, for the government to return power to the people without an election.

She said that the issue was totally unprecedented, and that it must be decided by concerned parties first whether it is a viable option under the Thai constitution.

Meanwhile, Police Major General Piya Uthayo, spokesman of Centre for the Administration of Peace and Order, said diplomats would be invited to the Government House on Monday to observe all security preparations, hoping to avoid confrontation with the protesters and warned of those trying to agitate the situation.
