SEMPORNA, April 15 – Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal(Pic) said Malaysians should give their mandate to the Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 13th general election (GE13) because the people can only hope for a better future from the BN.
He said that since Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak helmed the BN government, all Malaysians, regardless of race and their beliefs had benefited from the various policies and initiatives introduced by the government.
Shafie said those living in the urban centres were enjoying various facilities including affordable homes, efficient public transport system while taxi drivers were given free tyres to ease their burden.
Civil servants such as members of the security forces had been given a higher grade and salary to enable them to enjoy better living in the face of the rising cost of living, he said when officiating the Gathering With Friends of AIM and the opening of Sahabat Ikhtiar Supermarket at the Semporna Community Hall, here today.
Shafie said Najib’s success in bringing major changes to the socioeconomy and the government in the past four years proved his capability in leading the nation towards greater progress and as such the BN should be given a new mandate.
Commenting on the disagreements between the parties in the opposition pact on the allocation of seats, Shafie said the people should consider the matter seriously as it presented an important message to the rakyat.
