KUALA LUMPUR, April 25 – Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) today reminded political parties against putting up flags, posters and banners for the general election along railway tracks.
It said in a statement that these items would obstruct trains and disrupt services, especially of the electric trains.
Some of these flags had fallen onto the tracks and delayed or disrupted train services, it said. KTMB warned that the areas in the vicinity of the electric train tracks were high-voltage (25,000 volts) danger zones.
It said KTMB would constantly monitor the situation and remove flags, posters and banners which posed a safety risk and possible disruption to train services.
