Three army officials representing the Election Commission monitored the postal voting process that began at 9.30am.

Zulkefili said the voting process at the 21st Royal Malay Regiment Tactical units base in Kg Tanduo went smoothly.

“Kg Tanduo has a special place in our hearts because this is where we faced the enemy after they invaded our country on Feb 12. This is where our men fought bravely to defend Malaysia’s sovereignty.

“Today, two months after the unfortunate incident, we are casting our votes here. It is indeed a historic event,” he added.

Zulkefili said the postal voting process was also carried out in the Kg Tanjung, Cenderawasih and Felda Sahabat army bases.

He said the postal voting process would be done in stages in order to cover all the military bases in the east coast.
