JULY 16- Producers of recently released Bollywood film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani have run into legal trouble as the makers of Roohafza on Monday moved the Delhi High Court seeking an apology from them for presenting the popular squash in bad light.
Claiming that the dialogues have already been removed from the DVD and TV versions of the film, advocate for Dharma Productions maintained that no apology is required since there was no intention to disparage the drink.
The counsel for Hamdard National Foundation, however, argued that it doesn’t matter whether the intention was to ridicule or not, the case won’t be settled until they apologise. “We won’t settle unless they say it was in bad taste and disparaging. If they say it is not wrong, it means they intended to do so”, the counsel submitted before Justice Mukta Gupta.
The court asked the two parties to either settle the dispute or file written submissions on the matter within four weeks.
