“DAP will accept the decision if ROS clarifies under which provision of the law the directive on the re-election for the CEC is given,” he told a media conference at the DAP headquarters here Wednesday.

Yesterday, ROS had sent a letter of notice under Section 16 (1) of Societies Act 1966 to DAP to inform the party on its dissatisfaction over DAP’s clarification on its CEC polls.

ROS was reported to have investigated several complaints on alleged cheating in the election of DAP CEC members in the December polls.

The issue arose when a recounting of votes indicated that Lim’s political secretary Zairil Khir Johari, who initially garnered 305 votes, actually received 803 votes and was eligible to be a CEC member.

Meanwhile, DAP National Legal Bureau secretary Gobind Singh Deo said a letter on the stand of DAP would be sent to ROS tomorrow and the bureau would wait for its response before taking further action.
