New Delhi, Jan 22 – Japan’s Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe will undertake an official visit to India from Jan 25-27, at the invitation of Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh.
Abe will be the chief guest at India’s Republic Day Celebration on Jan 26, said a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs.
Abe will meet Manmohan for the Annual Summit between India and Japan.
Their discussions will add substance and content to the India-Japan Strategic & Global Partnership.
The visiting Prime Minister will also call on President Pranab Mukherjee.
Abe will be accompanied by his wife, Akie Abe.
Since 1950, India has been hosting head of state or government of another country as the state guest of honour for Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi.
