Kuala Lumpur – Datuk Chandrasekar Suppiah (pic), Chairman of MIC Bandar Tun Razak division in Wilayah Persekutuan has declared his support for the MIC President Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam in uniting the party by bringing back those MIC leaders currently outside the party.
“Since the announcement made by our MIC President Datuk Seri Dr S.Subramaniam in welcoming back into the party, the branch chairmen and leaders currently outside, there have been several media reports highlighting about positions to be accorded the incoming party leaders. I am also aware that several quarters within our party are opposing the merger exercise envisaged by our party president for fear of losing their own positions as branch chairmen and division heads. I as the Division Chairman of MIC Bandar Tun Razak division (Wilayah Persekutuan) hereby declare my full support for the merger of our fellow brothers back into the party and in this regard fully support and congratulate our President on his noble initiative in uniting the party” Chandrasekar Suppiah said in a press statement released today.
He is also a former CWC member and the former Deputy State Chairman of MIC Wilayah Persekutuan.
“I would like to point out that even in my own division there are branches which supported former President Datuk Seri G.Palanivel and chose not to file their respective nominations during the Re-elections held recently. Despite my differences with them I am willing to embrace these branch chairmen back into the party again through my division” Chandrasekar declared in his press statement.
He also urged everyone to put aside all their egos and personal desires for the positions and think for the sake of the party and community and for the betterment of our future generations.
“Let us not create and impose hurdles for our own fellow branch chairmen when they are willing to come back and be with us to serve the party. Let us not forget that they were one of us just a few months ago” Chandrasekar reminded the party leaders who are opposing the merger.
“On the same note, I am urging all the branch chairmen and leaders from the faction led by Datuk S.Sothinathan and Tan Sri S.Balakrishnan to return to our party without setting any pre-conditions. Demands if any should be reasonable and objectively acceptable to all of us in the party” Chandrasekar further noted in his press statement.
“Let us first unite and make our party stronger and efficient to face the formidable opposition in the forthcoming GE-14. In this regard I once again reiterate that all of us should give our fullest support and cooperation and stand united behind our party President Dato Seri Dr Subra in all his decisions to carry out the merger exercise successfully” Chandrasekar concluded in his press statement.
