KUALA TERENGGANU, March 19- About 1,000 PAS supporters in Besut district joined Umno in the last five years after losing confidence in the party which claimed to champion the struggle of Islam . Besut Umno Liaison chief Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh(Pic) said the action of the group was a positive indicator for a bigger win by Barisan Nasional in Terengganu in the coming 13th general election.
“The most gratifying thing is that Besut Umno can hold talks at the house of former PAS supporters in just three days with the presence of many who want to listen to explanations on various current issues in the country.
“I still remember in 2004, I cannot even enter their houses to campaign…the situation is very different now and BN is in a strong position,” he told reporters after opening a seminar on the Transformation of Tenant Entreprenuer here today.
