PETALING JAYA, March 19 – “If the people elect a government just based on the manifesto, the country will go bankrupt,” Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz(Pic) said today.
The former Trade and Industry Minister said the people should re-elect the current government based on its track record since Independence, and not be swayed by manifestos which were released once in five years or Orange Books each time the Budget was tabled.
“Don’t be easily influenced by manifestos and be shortsighted,” she told reporters after delivering a lecture at the Bicara Perdana programme organised by SME Corp and Persatuan Peniaga dan Usahawan Malaysia (Perdasama) here.
Rafidah, who is also the MP for Kuala Kangsar, was alluding to the populist manifesto of the opposition for the upcoming general election. She added that she was confident that the Barisan Nasional would secure a big victory in the election.
