March 22,2013-Mumbai was on red (sole) alert this week as French footwear magnate Christian Louboutin stopped by to launch his first store in the Maximum City. The Mumbai outlet, spread across two floors at Horniman Circle, is Louboutin’s second in India- the first opened in Delhi’s DLF Emporio mall last year.

The designer, who is best known for his trademark sky-high heels and brightred soles, opened the doors to his boutique on Tuesday amid a gathering of Bollywood’s well heeled (pun intended). Among those present at the launch was superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who later took to his blog to discuss his love for the designer extraordinaire.”Some of his works are most unusual and exclusive… The ones I wore for the Steven Spielberg conversation were his make… smart eh (sic)?” he gushed.
