JOHOR BAHARU, March 31- The Johor PKR State Leadership Council (SLC) deputy chairman Dr Ahmad Faidhi Saidi said Datuk Dr Chua Jui Meng is still Johor PKR and state SLC chairman.
He said at the moment, there were no statements from the leader on the matter.
“Chua Jui Ming will continue to lead and work as Johor SLC chairman as well as the Central PKR vice-president.
“He is now resting temporarily and is still leading. He has not issued any statement stating that he is no longer Johor PKR leader,” he told reporters at Johor PKR office, here today.
Asked if the leader’s ‘disappearance’ was due to the announcement on DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang contesting in the Gelang Patah Parliamentary constituency, Ahmad said: “That I do not know, you have to ask him.”
According to him, Jui Ming was expected to return to Johor on April 2 and in the meantime he would take on all responsibilities concerned.
He said Johor SLC wanted the status on Jui Meng to be handled by the party’s central leadership council soon.
He said Jui Ming went ‘missing’ more than two weeks ago after the announcement by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim that Kit Siang would contest in Gelang Patah at DAP’s 47th anniversary celebration in Skudai and his disappearance had
raised several questions.
Jui Meng had earlier clashed with Johor DAP chairman Dr Boo Cheng Hau to contest in the constituency and was disappointed with the latest decision, fueling speculation that he could be returning to MCA and Barisan Nasional.
