Fauzi Abdul RahmanKUANTAN, April 1- Pahang Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) liaison chief Datuk Fauzi Abdul Rahman(pic) has been announced as party candidate for the Indera Mahkota parliamentary seat in the upcoming 13th general election.  PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Fauzi would be replacing Azan Ismail who would be contesting in Terengganu.

“Fauzi is an old friend and we decided he should contest in Indera Mahkota,” he told a ceramah in Balok Makmur, near here, tonight.  In the 2008 general election, PKR won the seat when Azan defeated Salamon Ali Rizal Abdul Rahman of BN with a majority 1,027 votes.

Fauzi had served as parliamentary secretary to the Information Ministry from October 1990 to May 1995. He was then parliamentary secretary to the Land and Cooperative Development Ministry from 1995 to 1997.  From 1997-1999, he was deputy minister in the Prime Minister’s Department and was Kuantan Umno chief.
