PUTRAJAYA, April 3 – The Election Commission (EC) is waiting for the notification from the speakers of the dissolved Dewan Rakyat and state legislative assemblies to decide when to have a special meeting on the general election, EC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof said today. He said it was hoped that the notification could be received today.
“We hope to receive the letters as soon as possible and only then can the EC set the date of the special meeting,” he said when contacted by Bernama today. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today announced the dissolution of the Dewan Rakyat to enable the 13th general election to be held.
