KUANTAN, April 8 – Three hundred Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) members from the Indera Mahkota PKR branch, led by its vice head M. Ramesh, have decided to quit the party and support the Barisan Nasional (BN) leadership headed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Ramesh when speaking at a meet-the-people session organised by the Kuantan Indian Development Club in Pahang, here, tonight said: “We had joined PKR in 1999, but realisepkrd that the promises made during the 2008 general election were lies. We were fooled by their sweet promises.

“It is totally different in the case of the BN leadership under the Prime Minister who has sincerely helped the Indian community through various assistance including BR1M and school vouchers,” he said. When submitting their pledge to Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob, Ramesh pledged to support Najib and the Pahang BN.

“The Indian community must not be convinced by the sweet promises offered by the opposition. Do not burn down your houses to make changes, repair your house. Don’t change the government but change the leaders if they are not doing the right thing,” said Adnan.
