BUKIT MERTAJAM, April 27 – The Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Permatang Pauh parliamnetary seat, Dr Mazlan Ismail, today urged the voters there to help his opponent, Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, realise his (Anwar’s) dream of “becoming a lecturer at a university in the United Kingdom (UK)” after the 13th General Election on May 5.
“I promise to deliver the goods to the people of Permatang Pauh irrespective of race,” he said in his ceramah at the Taman Pauh public field here tonight.
Also present at the ceramah session which was attended by more than 1,000 people was Jalur Tiga (Jati) presiden Jati Datuk Hassan Ali. Anwar had recently said that he would take up academia if his Pakatan coalition failed to capture Putrajay in the election.
