KUALA TERENGGANU, May 22 – The swearing-in of the Terengganu state assemblymen and appointment of a speaker will be held on June 16, at Wisma Darul Aman here.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said said Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin would officiate the opening of the new term of the 13th State Assembly, the following day.
“The debate will be for four days until the winding-up on June 19,” he told reporters after chairing the first meeting of the state executive council at Wisma Darul Aman today.
Ahmad took his oath as menteri besar before Sultan Mizan at Istana Maziah here on May 11, six days after the Terengganu Barisan Nasional retained power on a simple majority at the 13th General Election (GE13).Ten state executive councillors also received their credentials and took their oath at the same ceremony.
At GE13, Terengganu BN won 17 of the 32 state seats and four of the eight parliamentary seats.
