Women the pulse of society -Najib

najibKUALA LUMPUR, May 29- Malaysia’s future will be more secured if women’s rights continue to be protected as they are the pulse of society, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

In his latest entry in 1malaysia.com.my blog today, he said the new mandate  given by the people in the general election gave him the opportunity to continue to serve women.

“Women are entitled to the best healthcare services, educational and employment opportunities.

“Today, 65 percent of students in higher education institutions in the country are women.

“The rate of maternal mortality in this country is also one of the lowest in the region with only 29 in every 100,000 births compared to 540 in every 100,000 births after independence.”

Najib said in the index of the World Economic Forum, Malaysia was ranked among the final quarter.

“The challenge now is to ensure that the success we have achieved in education and healthcare is translated into success in the workplace and society.”

He also touched on the Women Deliver Global Conference 2013 in Kuala Lumpur today that was attended by international women activists.
