nacy-shukriPUTRAJAYA, May 29- Newly appointed Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Nancy Shukri (photo) said she would look into areas of improvements which could be implemented to enhance the nation’s laws and administrative process.

Admitting that the position was a big shoe to fill up, she said feedback from the public would also be analysed for the matter.

“The staff here are all very capable, they will be supporting me and I am sure we can work as a team to put up a good show in our service,” she told reporters after the handing over of duties by former minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz, here today.

Nancy will be taking care of 11 of 19 agencies which were previously under Mohamed Nazri, who is currently the Tourism and Culture Minister, including the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD), Legal Affairs Division (BHEUU), Legal Aid Department (JBG), Amanah Raya Berhad (ARB), Malaysia Department of Insolvency (MdI) and the Judicial and Legal Service Commission.

Meanwhile Mohamed Nazri, who had been carrying the task for nine years said he believed and was confident that Nancy was as capable as he was to perform the task.

“BHEUU will have a good minister, I have no doubt about that. And I know she can lead the ministry and she can perform her duty as well as you expect her to,” he said.

Asked on the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) Commissioner which had yet to be appointed, Mohamed Nazri said it would be done by Nancy with consultation with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

On the Election Commission (EC), Mohamed Nazri said though it was under his purview before, it is now being put directly under the Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
