KOTA KINABALU, June 4- Sabah State Secretary Tan Sri Sukarti Wakiman (photo) has clarified that the ban on Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar was only for one occasion, which was on the eve of the closing ceremony of the Kaamatan (Harvest Festival) celebration.
This was done for security reasons based on reports received, he said in a brief statement, here today.
Sukarti said there was no permanent ban on her or any other opposition leaders coming into Sabah as long as “they do not pose a security threat”.
“In fact, DAP’s Lim Kit Siang was allowed into the state less than two weeks ago,” he said.
