NEW DELHI, Aug 15- India’s 67th Indian Independence Day celebrations will be streamed live on Youtube on Aug 15, public service broadcaster Doordarshan announced Wednesday.
The live stream will be shown on Thursday from 6.25 am onwards and will capture the flag-hoisting ceremony by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh from the Red Fort, Press Trust of India (PTI) reported.
Users will also be able to enjoy highlight clips from the celebrations.
“We are delighted to associate with Youtube to share the Independence Day celebrations with Indians across the globe.
“Streaming Independence Day celebration live on Youtube will help us to reach the global audience in a format that best suits today’s generation,” said Doordarshan director general Tripurari Sharan.
This year’s 64th Republic Day Parade was streamed live and received more than 100,000 viewers.
