New Delhi, November 7- Two top politicians of the country are set to address election rallies in Bastar, a Maoist stronghold in Chhattisgarh, on Thursday.

Security forces are naturally on high alert since the Maoist guerrillas have asked voters in the tribal region to boycott of the Assembly elections. The state goes to the polls on November 11 and 19.

“Security has been heightened across the state, particularly in Bastar,” DGP Ramniwas said on Wednesday.

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi too is scheduled to visit the state on November 8 and address a rally in Kanker. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will visit Raipur on November 9.
