LUANDA, Feb 26- At least 101 cases of cholera, with one death in the province of Luanda, have been reported in Angola in the week ended Feb 24, according to figures released here by the Cholera Control
Commission, chaired by Health Minister José Van-Dúnem. During the said period Luanda recorded 53 cases, Cunene Province 30 cases, Benguela 21, Uíge four and Lunda Norte one case.
According to the health authorities, so far this year, Angola has recorded a total of 610 cases with eight deaths. The northern province of Uige led the list with 286 cases, followed by Cunene with 209 and four deaths while Malanje Province recorded 27 cases and three deaths. In the previous week, a total of 83 cases were reported nationwide.
