ALMATY (Kazakhstan), Feb 27- Iranian negotiating team took the upper hand in Almaty nuclear talks on Tuesday given the achievements Iran made in the field of peaceful nuclear technology, Iran’s IRNA reported. The achievements made by Iranian Atomic Energy Organisation (IAEO) in the field of peaceful nuclear technology and its clear stand about nuclear activities, which was widely reflected in the media, influenced the atmosphere
of Almaty nuclear talks.
Iran’s discovery of new uranium reserves and its government’s planning to build new nuclear power plants to generate electricity were broadcast by the media worldwide. The plan to launch Arak nuclear reactor with virtual fuel in the near future accounts for major Iranian achievement in the nuclear field. Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili on Saturday underlined defending Iran’s nuclear rights, urging the major powers to enter Almaty
negotiations with an accredited proposal.
He said that as a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), Iran should be allowed to use nuclear energy for civilian utility.
