MIC to focus on finding solution to problems – Dr Subramaniam

s-subramaniam1-020713_484_321_100KUALA LUMPUR, March 4 – While the MIC is focused on finding a solution to the party’s problems, it does not want other issues to interfere with the process, says deputy president Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam.

He said although there were some issues such as disunity among party members due to differences in opinion, he was confident it could be resolved and the party members would stand together in solving the problems.

“We are now looking for solutions, and not focusing on other issues,” he told reporters after opening the Global Food Security 2015 here today.

Dr Subramaniam said the issue regarding the party’s election process should be resolved as soon as possible, and the move to take the matter to court would only affect the party, Barisan Nasional (BN) and the party’s success in the 14th General Election.

On Dec 5, last year, the Registrar of Societies (ROS) directed the MIC to hold a re-election for three vice-president posts and 23 posts of the Central Working Committee within 90 days, following complaints of abuse of power and misconduct which violates the party constitution and the Societies Act.

The ROS also advised MIC not to hold their annual general assembly until the issue was resolved.
