Isha Foundation celebrates International Yoga day in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, June 20 – The United Nations has declared to celebrate 21st June as “International Day of Yoga”. This has further reinforced the value and profound benefits of Yoga to bring an individual’s mind, body, spirit and existence in absolute harmony.

177 countries including USA, Canada and China supported by co-sponsoring ​this resolution, a rarity in the new world. It had the highest number of co-sponsors ever for any UNGA resolution of such nature.

In view of the celebrations International Day of Yoga, Volunteers of Isha Foundation, in Malaysia are organising Free yoga workshops throughout Malaysia which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, Seremban, Kuantan and Ipoh. All these sessions are open to the public for FREE at any age from 7 year old onwards.  No prior knowledge of yoga is needed to attend any of these sessions and all fitness levels are welcomed to the sessions.

Our sessions will be conducted for 30 minutes or 90 minutes and are free of charge. The nature of both these sessions will include physical postures, breathing techniques and meditation. Complimentary ongoing online and offline support will also made available to participants after the event.  The practices from these sessions are very effective tools that can be practised between 5 to 15 minutes.
Isha Foundation is inviting public to attend and take full advantage of these events.

There will be a day long event @ Publika Mall in KL tomorrow (21st June) with a yoga carnival where thousands of people are expected to attend. The event will start at 9 am and will will last until 9.30 pm.

  • Free holistic workshop sessions all day long. (For ages 7 and above, no prior knowledge of yoga required)
  • Organic / natural health products and food stalls –
  • Get up-close and personal with local celebrities and Yoga practitioners
  • Fun games for kids
  • Art session with renown artist and art teacher, Phillip Wong
