Kuala Lumpur, June 20 – The United Nations has declared to celebrate 21st June as “International Day of Yoga”. This has further reinforced the value and profound benefits of Yoga to bring an individual’s mind, body, spirit and existence in absolute harmony.
177 countries including USA, Canada and China supported by co-sponsoring this resolution, a rarity in the new world. It had the highest number of co-sponsors ever for any UNGA resolution of such nature.
There will be a day long event @ Publika Mall in KL tomorrow (21st June) with a yoga carnival where thousands of people are expected to attend. The event will start at 9 am and will will last until 9.30 pm.
Activities include: –
- Free holistic workshop sessions all day long. (For ages 7 and above, no prior knowledge of yoga required)
- Organic / natural health products and food stalls –
- Get up-close and personal with local celebrities and Yoga practitioners
- Fun games for kids
- Art session with renown artist and art teacher, Phillip Wong
