Kuala Lumpur, July 11 – MIC Acting President Datuk Seri Dr S.Subramaniam has announced that the nominations for MIC branches which began yesterday will continue today and tomorrow as planned.
He also denied rumours spread by some disgruntled opponents claiming that the nominations have been called off.
“I am aware that there is a SMS being sent by some irresponsible group that the ROS recognised CWC2009 has called off the nominations on 11th and 12th July (today and tomorrow). This is a total lie.All the contents in the SMS are false .The SMS has been sent by some group with the evil intention of spoiling our nominations. Please tell all branch chairman to come out in full and file their nominations. Please ignore all statements by this irresponsible group” Subra said in SMS text message sent today to all the MIC branches.
The nominations for Kedah, Kelantan, Trengganu took place yesterday. Today, nominations will proceed for MIC branches in Melaka, Johor and Perak.
Tomorrow (Sunday 12th July) nominations will take place for Selangor, Penang, Perlis, Wilayah Persekutuan and Negeri Sembilan.
Except for some commotions at the nomination centre in Sungei Petani yesterday, the nominations proceeded smoothly in all other locations.
