Kuala Lumpur, July 14 – In view of the Court of Appeal’s decision yesterday (13th July 2015) Datuk N.Muniandy has withdrawn his suit for injunction and declaration against Dato Seri G.Palanivel.
N.Muniandy with his lawyers and supporters in court today…
“I believe Dato’ Seri Palanivel will now abide by the ROS directives as per the Court of Appeal decision and that there should not be any further confusion created in the party. The ROS directives are very clear and the Courts have also affirmed these directives” Muniandy said in a statement immediately issued immediately after his withdrawal of suit.
“I must say that the ex- parte interim injunction duly served its purpose as the nominations went on smoothly. Therefore, in view of the decision of the Honourable Court of Appeal yesterday, the ROS’s directives are binding on the party and as such, I have decided that there is no need to prolong this legal matter any further. There is no need to restrain Dato’ Palanivel as he will now have to abide by the decisions of both the Courts” Muniandy further clarified.
He also reiterated that the suit was withdrawn on his own accord and was not struck out as claimed by some quarters.
The court has set July 28 to hear further arguments as to costs.
Lawyers Ms Vasanthi Arumugam, Edmund Milkiu and Ms Rita Ramani appeared for Muniandy while Palanivel was represented by Dato Manoharan.
