PUTRAJAYA, March 8- The people, irrespective of their political leanings should stay united by displaying their spirit of patriotism to the security forces who are in the battlefield to defend the country’s dignity and sovereignty, in Sabah.
Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk S. K. Devamany(Pic) said in such a situation, the people should support the decision and resolution taken by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to show the world that national interest was above political interest.
Devamany who is also MIC vice president said it was the responsibility of every citizen to appreciate the service and sacrifice of the security forces who are combating armed intruders in Lahad Datu and Semporna, Sabah.
“This is not the time to seek publicity or politicise the tragedy of our fallen security forces. This is the time for us to show our spirit of patriotism for the country and strengthen unity by forgetting our differences for the sake of the country.
“If need be, as citizens, we should be ready to fight and defend the country from enemies,” he told Bernama here today.
