KAMPUNG GAJAH, March 8 – Some 340 Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) members from Felcra Seberang Perak 1, 2 and 16 in Malinja Jaya here have quit the party to join Umno.
Led by Pasir Salak PKR division secretary Mokhtar Ridzuan they handed over their Umno membership forms to Pasir Salak Umno head Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, who is also the MP for Pasir Salak, at a ceremony in Taman Malinja Jaya
here at 11pm tonight.
Mokhtar said they had lost faith in PKR’s leadership and had decided to form their own Umno branch. He added that he would go on a roadshow to get other PKR members to join Umno because only Umno could guarantee the future of the Malays and Islam in the country without sidelining the interests of the other races.
